Cleaning and Care

Enamel is glass, fused onto sterling silver. The enamel itself does not tarnish. Only the exposed silver darkens over time, and that comes back with a gentle polish.

On last, off first

Put your piece on after perfume and moisturiser. Take it off before showering, swimming, sleeping or the gym.

Mind the knocks

Enamel is hard, but like any glass it can chip if it is struck against something harder. Treat it as you would a fine watch face.

Clean it simply

A soft, slightly damp cloth and a drop of mild soap are all it needs. Dry it fully afterwards. Nothing abrasive, and nothing you would dip it into — no ultrasonic cleaners, no silver dips, no toothpaste. If the silver has darkened, a soft silver polishing cloth on the metal parts brings the shine back; keep it away from the enamel.

Store it dry and separate

Keep each piece in its own pouch or compartment, away from your other jewellery, so nothing rubs or scratches. A dry, closed box slows the darkening of the silver.
